Trump has refused to concede the November election to President-elect Joe Biden, baselessly claiming that widespread voter fraud perpetrated by Democrats handed Biden the victory. Trump and members of his legal team have alleged that voting machines distributed by Dominion Voting Systems were programmed to flip votes from Trump to Biden. While a majority of Trump’s legal efforts to have the election results overturned have failed, some House Republicans have stated they plan on objecting to the results of the Electoral College during the official Congressional count of the votes on Wednesday....

Tara Setmayer announced her GOP departure in a tweet on Thursday. Setmayer is a longtime critic of President Donald Trump and a senior consultant for the Lincoln Project, the political action committee of current and former Republicans who this year launched a costly ad campaign boosting Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. “This is something I’ve been wrestling with for a long time,” Setmayer said in a video explaining her decision....
