The report claims the Pixel 4a will be something of a Goldilocks phone, with a 2340 x 1080 5.8in display that’s up from the 3a’s 5.6in and down from the 3a XL’s 6in. To only have one mid-range Pixel makes sense to us.

The 4a will have the Snapdragon 730 chip, an upgrade from the 670 found in the 3a series. It’ll have an 8Mp front camera with cut out in the left top corner that eschews premium features like face unlock and 3D biometrics of the Pixel 4 to keep the price down. The rear camera should hold Google’s famously excellent software trickery, but the sensor itself is set to be a single 12.2Mp shooter with OIS.

Another leak from TechDroider via Twitter shows what could be official Pixel 4a stock ready to go in the Just Black colour. Other sources claim the second and final colour option is Barely Blue.

The price is still expected to be US$399, the same as the small Pixel 3a started at. 9to5Google was less sure about the release date, simply saying “it could be any time in the next month or two”, given the announcement would have been made on 12 May at I/O.
